The store’s official grand opening and ribbon cutting will take place at 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 11. Shoppers will be able to enter immediately afterward and will have a chance to enter a $500 Aldi gift card contest (no purchase necessary). The first 100 customers through the doors on opening day will receive a free bag of Aldi products and a Golden Ticket valued at up to $100.

Store details and location

At 20,264 square feet, the new Ontario store is slightly smaller than the Aldi that opened in June 2024 on East Ridge Road in Irondequoit. Ontario officials approved plans for the Route 104 store in February. Until now, the only Aldi in Wayne County has been the location on Route 31 in Lyons, though many Ontario shoppers have relied on the Webster store just over the Monroe County line.

Aldi’s rapid expansion continues

Founded in Germany and now based in Batavia, Illinois, Aldi plans to open more than 225 U.S. stores in 2025 as part of a national growth strategy. It marks the most store openings in a single year in the company’s nearly 50-year history in the United States.
