The Buffalo Bills’ Super Bowl hopes hinge on the right arm of Josh Allen. The MVP held onto his left arm in pain after being sacked by the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football.
On third-and-8 with 12:43 left in the second quarter, Allen was swarmed by the Atlanta defense. He tried escaping pressure up the middle, spun left and then was met by more pressure. Dee Alford was credited for the 15-yard sack after Allen was taken down by three defenders.
Allen rolled onto his back with his left arm resting on his stomach. Offensive lineman Dion Dawkins and Alec Anderson checked on Allen before the quarterback walked off the field shaking his left hand.
Allen was asked after the Bills’ 24-14 loss if he injured his hand in the first half. “No,” Allen answered.
“Are you playing completely healthy right now?” was a second reporter’s follow-up question. “Yeah,” Allen said.
Allen played most of last season with a broken left hand. He suffered the injury in Week 1 in 2024. He wore a white glove and tape on his non-throwing hand for much of the season.
The Bills punted after Allen was sacked and Falcons running back Bijan Robinson ripped off an 81-yard touchdown run on the next play to put the Falcons up 21-7.
