The saga that New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn has created with the media took another interesting turn.
This week, the Jets (2-7) have a shortened schedule as the team will travel to face the New England Patriots (8-2) for “Thursday Night Football.”
Two of the usual highlighted topics in New York throughout the lead up to every game has been the starting quarterback position and injuries.
The quarterback saga between Glenn and the media has been well noted.
Despite saying early in his tenure in New York that he will not withhold information, Glenn has now long decided to change his mind. He has not revealed his thoughts on who will start under center for the Jets as of late.
During his latest back-and-forth with media members, Glenn has decided that injury news will be apart of that same equation as the quarterback position. It’s clear why.
Prior to his Tuesday press conference, it was reported by ESPN that star wide receiver Garrett Wilson will not play on Thursday .
Glenn was not happy about that.
The coach made that known when his press conference did come about. Glenn told other reporters to go ask ESPN for injury news instead of him.
It’s a confusing strategy by Glenn because… it was obvious to most Wilson (knee) would not play against the Patriots, anyway. He was just injured days before on Sunday and that’s a quick turnaround to Thursday.
Glenn does not pick and choose his battles very well when it comes to the media.
