PHILADELPHIA — Section III wrestlers will crown their 2026 dual meet champions Monday with divisions I and II competing at a one-day tournament hosted by Indian River High School.
Little Falls, the runner-up in Division II last year, is seeded second with an 11-1 record and opens competition against defending champion Sherburne-Earlville (3-0), the No. 7 seed in this year’s Tri-Valley-League- and Center State Conference-heavy bracket.
Sherburne-Earlville defeated Little Falls 40-27 in the finals at Jefferson Community College last year.
Marcellus (9-1) is the No. 1 seed in Division II this year. In addition to Little Falls and Sherburne-Earlville, the Center State Conference is represented by No. 8 Adirondack (5-2). Undefeated Holland Patent (10-0) and Central Valley Academy (11-5) are seeded third and sixth from the Tri-Valley League and square off in the first round with the winner advancing to meet Little Falls or Sherburne-Earlville in the semifinals.
Prior to last year, Central Valley Academy had won each Division II tournament since Section III split a single tournament into divisions in 2019.
Undefeated Carthage (5-0) is the No. 1 seed in Division I. West Genesee (9-0), the No. 3 seed, is also undefeated; the Wildcats are the defending champions, having beaten Carthage in the semifinals and Central Square for the championship.
Central Square (4-4) is seeded eighth this year and meets Carthage in the first round. Fulton (13-2) is the No. 2 seed.Both championship matches are scheduled for 4:15 p.m. and will be contested on separate mats. The four semifinals are set for 2:30 p.m.
The state dual meet tournament will be contested January 31 at SRC Arena on the Syracuse campus of Onondaga Community College.
Section II’s dual meet tournaments will be contested January 20, Division I at Shenendehowa and Division II at Salem; the hosts are the No. 1 seeds. Fonda-Fultonville/Johnstown is seeded third and Duanesburg/Schoharie sixth in Division II and the Western Athletic Conference rivals will square off in the quarterfinals.
Maine-Endwell is the top seed for Section IV’s Division I tournament Tuesday, and Tioga is the No. 1 seed for Division II Wednesday. The top seeds will host their tournaments.
