Could the New York Jets pursue Jarrett Stidham at quarterback?

The New York Jets need to find a new starting quarterback this offseason. The expectation is that the staff may rely on their experience. Offensive coordinator Frank Reich has coached potentially available quarterbacks like Andy Dalton and Jacoby Brissett, for example.

ESPN recently floated out another name. Current Jets general manager Darren Mougey joined the franchise from the Denver Broncos.

Mougey was the assistant general manager when the Broncos acquired quarterback Jarrett Stidham.

In a recent story, Cimini mentions Stidham as a potential Jets trade target.

“There’s a sense that the Jets will look to add two veterans, steering away from overpriced big names and focusing on cost-effective backups/stop-gap starters — players such as Tanner McKee, Spencer Rattler and Tyson Bagent,” ESPN wrote. “Another one to watch is Jarrett Stidham, who is under contract with the Denver Broncos. General manager Darren Mougey knows him from his time in Denver.”

Stidham has been with the Broncos since 2023.

This past season, he started the team’s AFC Championship Game loss versus the New England Patriots due to an injury to Bo Nix in the divisional round. With Nix established as the starter in Denver, Stidham could be made available to the Jets.

Jets Wire will continue to provide updates throughout the 2026 offseason.
