With Broome County bracing for another bitter cold weekend, the Broome County Executive’s office announced that BC Transit will be providing free rides to any warming center from Feb. 6 to Feb. 9.
National Weather Service Binghamton has issued an extreme cold weather watch beginning Feb. 7 at 4 p.m. It will remain in effect until Feb. 8 at 1 p.m.
Snow showers are expected throughout the weekend, with a possible inch of snow by Friday night. Temperatures are not expected to climb above 10 degrees with wind gusts up to 26 mph.
If you have to go outside, Broome County is urging all residents to dress in appropriate clothing to stay warm and dry with gloves, hats, scarves, thermals, water-resistant outerwear and necessary face coverings.
