Two Waukee students were injured when a school bus they were riding in was involved in a crash.
Around 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, a bus returning to Waukee High School following a swim meet in Johnston was involved in a crash near Country Club Boulevard and University Avenue in Clive.
Two students on the bus were injured, according to a news release from the Clive Police Department. One student was taken to Blank Children’s Hospital, and the other was released to their parents.
The driver of the other vehicle was trapped by the damage and was taken to MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines after being extricated by the West Des Moines Fire Department.
Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation, Clive police said.
