A train in Waverly struck and killed a 16-year-old boy on Tuesday, March 3.
The accident involving a train and a pedestrian happened near Waverly Health Center and Waverly-Shell Rock High School, according to a news release. The local police department and CN Railway Police are continuing to investigate the situation.

More details will be released as the investigation continues, Waverly Police Capt. Jason Leonard said in the release.
