Iowa women’s basketball signee McKenna Woliczko has officially been named to the 2026 Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy Girls High School Player of the Year Midseason Team. Woliczko had previously been included in the award’s watch list.
The 6-foot-2 forward was also recently named to the MaxPreps National Player of the Year watch list. Woliczko, a native of San Bruno, Calif., averaged 22.2 points and 8.6 rebounds per game and shot 59% during her junior season.
Woliczko is a five-star signee and Iowa’s highest-ranked signee since Caitlin Clark. The talented forward is ranked as the No. 6 player nationally, as the No. 2 power forward and as the No. 2 player from California, per 247Sports.
Joining Woliczko on the list of 19 other highly talented basketball players are a host of names Hawkeye fans may be familiar with due to their recruitment over the summer and fall months. Some of those names include Texas signee Addison Bjorn, North Carolina signee Kate Harpring and top-ranked 2027 prospect and Iowa recruit Kaleena Smith.
