After recently landing New Zealand native and four-star big man Jackson Kiss, Iowa State basketball is adding more international flavor to its 2026 recruiting class.
The Cyclones secured a commitment from center Dorian Rinaldo-Komlan. A 6-foot-10, 215-pound center originally from France, Rinaldo-Komlan moved stateside to spend his senior year at SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio.
His decision was announced on social media on Nov. 10.
Rinaldo-Komlan had one other reported offer, from Dayton. His first official collegiate visit was to Iowa State, which he completed in late October.
As an international prospect who has been mostly overseas throughout his basketball career, Rinaldo-Komlan is currently unranked by recruiting services. That may change once his high school senior season tips off, much like when ISU freshman Killyan Toure was initially unranked at the time of his commitment before emerging as a four-star prospect during his senior year at Brewster Academy.
Rinaldo-Komlan previously played for Ligoges Esporis’ U-21 team in France, where he averaged 11.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and shot 55% before coming to the United States and SPIRE Academy.
He made a splash at the Nike EYBL Peach Jam last summer, playing for Hustle Paris. Through seven games, he averaged 16.4 points and 8.0 rebounds while shooting 69% from the floor.
Rinaldo-Komlan is the latest in a string of recent international recruiting wins for coach T.J. Otzelberger. The Cyclones also have freshmen Toure of France and Dominykas Pleta of Germany. The 2026 recruiting class features international prospects Kiss and Rinaldo-Komlan.
Iowa State now has four 2026 commits. Rinaldo-Komlan joins four-star recruits Kiss and Christian Wiggins and three-star guard Yusef Gray Jr.
