After near-record warm temperatures, autumn weather is finally moving into Iowa.
October started with temperatures in the high 80s, with Oct. 3 reaching 87 degrees in Des Moines. While this wasn’t a record for Des Moines, it is still too warm for enjoying apple cider and trotting around a pumpkin patch in flannels.
On the heels of the heat came a needed rain for the state. The rest of the week should drop to cooler temperatures with few chances for rain.
