The arrival of daylight saving time pushed clocks forward an hour on Sunday, March 8, which shifts the sunset later into the day as days grow longer. That means sunsets arriving after 7 p.m. for the first time this year.

The summer solstice — the day with the longest amount of daylight and the shortest night — is predicted to happen on June 21 in 2026.
