There’s “some potential” for a winter storm to bring snow to the Tri-State this weekend, but getting specifics − from how much snow could fall to whether any wintry precipitation will happen at all − isn’t a realistic endeavor this early.
The National Weather Service, in an email Monday, said that the majority of its model guidance suggests that some snow is likely in the area. There’s a lower possibility that the storm will rise to the level of “major/impactful.”
But also note: “The possibility that we just remain very cold and dry with no snow remains a reasonable outcome,” the weather service said.

The National Weather Service says that if a storm impacts the Tri-State area, “it would be from Friday night through Sunday.”
