Western Wayne Schools' has new superintendent

CAMBRIDGE CITY, IN — Just in time for the school year, Western Wayne Schools has a new superintendent.

At a recent Western Wayne Schools special board meeting, Kelly Plank was approved as the corporation’s next superintendent after previous Superintendent Andy Stover took a position as director of operations at Fayette County School Corp. in April.

Since June, Alice Johnson, an associate clinical professor at Purdue, had been serving as interim superintendent while the corporation looked for a replacement. Stover’s resignation went into effect June 30.

Before Plank’s new position, she worked as the director of curriculum and instruction for Northeastern Wayne Schools before leaving in January. According to her LinkedIn profile, she was also a principal for Northeastern Middle School from 2020 to 2024 and Fairview Elementary School for Richmond Community Schools from 2018 to 2020.
