EVANSVILLE — The Indiana high school girls wrestling postseason has reached its final destination.
The second stage commenced with the regional round on Saturday, Jan. 10 across four sites. Those in Southwestern Indiana are interested in the results at Bloomington South ― the top four place winners in each weight class advanced to the state finals.
The championship is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 16 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center in Indianapolis.
North Posey’s Adelyn Gamblin was the lone individual regional champion from Southwestern Indiana. The senior (30-3 record) delivered four pins in four matches on Saturday, including a victory in 1 minute and 42 seconds during the 125-pound championship. Whiteland was the team champion in Bloomington with 203 points, followed by Franklin Community (116), Mooresville (103) and Bloomington South (100.5).

130: Kori Hunefeld (Southridge) lost to Marli Woods (Whiteland) 16-0 by technical fall for second place
135: Mya Menke (Southridge) lost to Cadence Williams (Mooresville) 8-3 for second place
140: Madalyn McCarty (Mount Vernon) dec. Sophia Waggoner (Avon) 4-1 for third place
145: Olivia Knabel (North Knox) pinned Ambryn Siddons (Mount Vernon) in 3:48 for third place – both advanced
170: Jocelyn Dubon (Southridge) lost to Lily Wolke (Brownsburg) in 4:10 for fourth place
235: Ryleigh Pitts (Tecumseh) lost to Dhamara Aguilar Tencle (Seymour) in 1:55 for second place
