Wagner returned to the game on Notre Dame’s next offensive drive, back at right tackle while Lambert moved back to right guard. A few plays into that drive, junior running back Jeremiyah Love was down with an apparent injury before leaving the field under his own power shortly thereafer.

Love headed straight to the medical tent on Notre Dame’s sideline. He sat out the Irish’s next offensive drive, although he stood on the sideline with his helmet on.

Love returned to the game after missing just one Notre Dame offensive drive. With 3:15 left to play in the first half, Love rushed for a three-yard touchdown.

He finished the first 30 minutes with 89 rushing yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. Love also had one reception for 11 yards.

The apparent injury to Wagner was sustained on a play where Love was stopped just one yard short of the end zone on second down. Notre Dame junior left guard Billy Schrauth was charged with a false start on the first play without Wagner in the game, moving the Irish back to the Boise State six-yard line.

The Irish ran two plays, including a 4th-down conversion attempt, and were unable to score. Notre Dame turned the ball over on downs at the Broncos’ two-yard line, and Boise State subsequently took over on offense for the first time Saturday. The Irish’s first offensive drive ended at 78 yards on 10 plays with no score.

Midway through the second quarter, Notre Dame junior linebacker Jaylen Sneed left the game with an apparent injury. He left the field under his own power but immediately made his way into the Irish’s medical tent.

Sneed had made no tackles up to the point of his exit. He returned to the game on the first Boise State drive of the second half.
