Nominee: Kallahan Steinman, Mishawaka High School
Kallahan Steinman, Mishawaka High School: Kal is a very polite young lady. She is a hard worker who turns in excellent work. She is also very helpful with students that teachers do not always have the time to do one-on-one work with. Her extreme patience is invaluable with allowing for not only herself to excel but others as well. Her positive attitude and caring spirit make her a huge asset to any classroom. She has and will continue to make a difference in the lives of others. Good job, Kal.
Nominee: Rocco Martin, Northridge High School
Rocco Martin, Northridge High School: Rocco is a senior at Northridge. For the past two years, he has been part of the Work-Based Learning Program, gaining hands-on experience while working at his family’s business, Martin Ace Hardware. At school, he’s also been involved behind the scenes, helping run lights and sound for football games and other events with two of his close friends. Outside of school, he spends much of his time with friends and family, who mean a great deal to him. His faith is an essential part of who he is; he loves being active in his local church, where he serves and helps teach kids during Sunday school. He is passionate about his country and the freedoms and opportunities we have. He tries to show his gratitude by working hard, helping others and respecting the people who protect those values, as it is his goal to do that in the future. He aspires to honor God more and more every day in how he lives his life and how he interacts with others.
