EVANSVILLE — Multiple protests are planned for this weekend in the Tri-State as part of the No Kings movement.
No Kings is described as a “nationwide day of defiance” on its website, with thousands of protests planned for around the world.
Saturday, June 14, is Flag Day in the United States, and President Donald Trump’s birthday.
According to reporting from USA Today, the U.S. Army plans to mark its 250th anniversary with a procession through the streets of the nation’s capital, coinciding with Trump’s 79th birthday.
The parade will be taxpayer-funded at a total of at least $30 million.
“The flag doesn’t belong to President Trump. It belongs to us. We’re not watching history happen. We’re making it,” No Kings organizers stated. “On June 14th, we’re showing up everywhere he isn’t — to say no thrones, no crowns, no kings.”
