Lent is here. Where to find fish fries around Indianapolis in 2026

With Ash Wedneday kicking off the 2026 Lenten season that runs through April 2, the next six weeks will bring a bounty of fried fish and assorted sides to churches and restaurants throughout central Indiana. Whether you’re a devout Catholic or just a connoisseur of cod, you can map out your fish fry plans at the Indianapolis-area locations below. This list will be updated as more churches post their schedules and menus.

Christ the King Catholic Church

Where: 5884 Crittendon Ave., ctk-indy.org

When: 6-8 p.m. Feb. 20 and March 6 (guests 55 and older welcome starting at 5:30 p.m.)

Christ the King’s menu will include fried fish, macaroni and cheese, green beans, rolls, lemonade and water, with domestic beer, wine and seltzers available for additional purchase. Grade school-age children and younger eat for $6 each, adults of high-school age and older for $13 and seniors 65 and older for $10. Families within the same household pay no more than $50 total.

Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church

Where: 89 N. 17th Ave., Beech Grove, (317) 784-5454, holyname.cc

When: 5:30-7:30 p.m. Feb. 27, March 6 and March 13

This south-side parish will serve dinners with one ($7), two ($10) or three ($13) pieces of fried Alaskan pollock ($3 for each additional piece) with two sides (choice of macaroni and cheese, fries, green beans and potatoes, coleslaw and potato salad) and one dessert. Dinners will also be available with slices of Gallagher’s pizza ($6 for one, $8 for two, $2 for each additional slice).

Holy Spirit Parish at Geist

Where: 10350 Glaser Way, Fishers, (317) 849-9245, hspgeist.org

When: 5-7:30 p.m. every Friday through March 27

Holy Spirit Parish in Fishers offers an all-you-can-eat selection of fried Alaskan fish, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, applesauce, dinner rolls and cookies. Adults dine in for $13; kids’ meals are $7 each. Adult carry-out and drive-thru meals (not all you can eat) are also available for $13.

Knights of Columbus Council 3660 at Downey Home Association

Where: 4701 S. Keystone Ave., kofc3660.com

When: 5-7 p.m. every Friday through April 3 (cash only)

Council 3660 of the Knights of Columbus’ fish fry will include two pieces of fish, French fries and coleslaw with Coke, Diet Coke or bottled water to drink. Meals for adults cost $10, while meals for children under 10 cost $5. Additional fish will be $1 per piece. The dinner is cash-only and will be drive-thru-only for at least the first week.

Love Handle

When: 5-9 p.m. every Friday through March 27

This Mass Ave breakfast spot’s annual Friday fish fry series will return through Lent, this time with later hours. Love Handle is yet to post its fish fry menu on its Facebook page, though last year’s iteration included items such as fried catfish, coleslaw, French fries and a biscuit for around $20.

MCL Restaurant and Bakery

Where: Multiple Indianapaolis-area locations, mclhomemade.com

When: Every Friday through March 27, hours vary by location

This Indianapolis-based chain is serving up “all-you-care-to-eat” fried catfish for dine-in customers. Prices vary by location, around $9. Sides including macaroni and cheese, coleslaw and green beans sold separately.

Our Lady of Grace Noblesville

Where: 9900 E. 191st St., Noblesville, (317) 773-4275, https://ologn.org

When: 4:30-7 p.m., every Friday through March 27

This Hamilton County church will offer a variety of meals including fried or baked fish, fish sticks or cheese pizza, with sides such as coleslaw, applesauce, French fries and baked potatoes. Individual meals range from $11 to $13 (kids meals cost $6 each), while an eight-piece meal for four cots $40. Eight pieces of just baked or fried fish are available for $30. Guests can dine in or pick up their meal.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel

Where: 14598 Oak Ridge Road, Carmel, (317) 846-3475, olmc1.org

When: 5-7:30 p.m. Feb. 20 and March 6

Our Lady of Mount Carmel’s Lenten dinner, hosted by the Knights of Columbus Council 11044, includes a choice of baked or fried fish, cheese pizza or macaroni and cheese as an entrée, with a choice of coleslaw, salad or macaroni and cheese, applesauce and a cookie for dessert. Iced tea, lemonade, water and coffee are available to drink. Depending on their choice of entrée, guests 13 and older eat for $8 to $15, and children 6 to 12 eat for $5 to $7. Meals are free for children under 6.

Saint Alphonsus Liguori Roman Catholic Church

Where: 1870 W. Oak St., Zionsville, (317) 873-2885, zionsvillecatholic.com

When: 5-8 p.m. every Friday through March 27

Saint Alphonsus’ fish fry includes fish and/or shrimp and fries ($15), a fish sandwich with fries ($10) or spaghetti with marinara sauce or butter ($7). All meals come with coleslaw or applesauce, a brownie and a beverage. Children ages 6 to 12 eat for $5, and meals are free for children under 6. Six hush puppies ($2) and beer or wine ($5, dine-in only) can be purchased separately.

Saint Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church

Where: 10655 Haverstick Road, Carmel

When: 5-7:30 p.m. every Friday through March 27

The Knights of Columbus fish fry at St. Elizabeth Seton will offer a handful of meals for its Lenten feast. Offerings include all-you-can eat fried fish with French fries, coleslaw, apple sauce and cookie ($14); crab cakes with French fries, coleslaw, apple sauce and a cookie ($18) and salmon with green beans, coleslaw, applesauce and a cookie ($17). All meals come with a drink, and a la carte options such as shrimp cocktail ($6) and clam chowder ($4) will also be available. Meals for children 12 and under include fried fish, French fries, applesauce, a cookie and a drink for $6. Beer and wine will be available for additional purchase, and all items except the all-you-can-eat meal and alcoholic drinks can be purchased to go.

Saint Jude Catholic Church

Where: 5353 McFarland Road, (317) 786-4371, stjudeindy.org

When: 4:30-7 p.m. Feb. 20 and March 13

Saint Jude will team up with Boy Scouts Troop 51 to provide fried or baked fish with various sides. All proceeds go to support Troop 51.

Saint Louis de Montfort Catholic Church

Where: 11441 Hague Road, Fishers, (317) 842-6778, sldmfishers.org

When: 5:30-7:30 p.m. every Friday through March 27

This Fishers parish’s menu includes baked or fried fish, soup, macaroni and cheese, breadsticks, coleslaw and cheese pizza. Guests can dine in or order carry-out

Saint Luke Catholic Church

Where: 7575 Holliday Drive, (317) 259-4373, stluke.org

When: 5:30-8:30 p.m. Feb. 20 and March 6

St. Luke’s south gymnasium will host two fish fries with fish from Sahm’s restaurants. The menu includes baked or fried fish, grilled cheese, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, green beans, a salad bar and rice. Guests who order in advance on the church’s website can purchase adult meals for $16 and meals for children ages 6 to 14 for $6. Tickets at the door are $18 per adult and $8 per child; kids under 6 eat free.

Saint Mary Catholic Church

Where: In the Marian Center at 311 N. New Jersey St., stmarysindy.org

When: Noon to 6 p.m. Feb. 18, then every Friday through March 27

This downtown parish will offer a whole fried fish with rice and French fries or a filet with rice and French fries every Friday throughout Lent as well as Ash Wednesday. Guests can dine in the Marian Center or order takeout.

Saint Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church

When: 5-8 p.m. March 6, March 13, March 20, March 27 and April 3

This northwest-side Orthodox church’s annual fish fry will feature a choice of fried or baked fish ($15), fried shrimp ($17) or a combo of fried fish and shrimp ($17). Each meal comes with Serbian bean soup, coleslaw, green beans, French fries and a choice of dessert. Fried calamari, fried mushrooms and fried zucchini are also available for purchase.

Saint Simon the Apostle

Where: 8155 Oaklandon Road, (317) 826-6000, https://saintsimon.org

When: 5:30-8 p.m., Feb. 20, Feb. 27, March 6 and March 13

This north-side parish will serve up baked cod, fried cod, baked salmon and peel-and-eat shrimp with green beans, French fries, macaroni and cheese and coleslaw, plus cheese pizza for the kids. Adults eat for $20 each, children 12 and under for $5. Beer, wine and soft drinks are also available for purchase.

Southpaw Soul Kitchen

Where: 3351 Central Ave., (317) 974-9349, facebook.com/southpawcatering

When: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. every Friday

This Mapleton-Fall Creek soul food spot serves a variety of pescetarian offerings year-round on Fridays including catfish with spaghetti, fries and coleslaw ($18), po’boys ($15) and gumbo ($21).
