The IndyCar Series prepared for its return to Phoenix International Speedway with two days of testing on the 1-mile oval.
Ed Carpenter Racing teammates Alexander Rossi (174.542 mph) and Christian Rasmussen (173.924) topped the speed chart Wednesday, Feb. 18. Four-time series champ Alex Palou of Chip Ganassi Racing (173.625) was third.

David Malukas, the Team Penske newcomer, had the top lap on the first day at 172.605. Teammate Josef Newgarden was second and Will Power — in his first season at Andretti Global after 17 at Penske — was third. Rookie Caio Collet of A.J. Foyt Racing brought out a yellow with a crash.
IndyCar races at Phoenix on Saturday, March 7, as part of a doubleheader weekend with NASCAR. IndyCar last raced there in 2018.
