Notre Dame women’s basketball star guard Hannah Hidalgo is unquestionably one of the best players in the nation, an on Sunday she proved that once again.
Just this season he’s reached 2,000 career-points, scored 44-points and recorded a NCAA single-game record for steals with 16 in the same game. On Sunday’s road comeback victory over No. 10 Louisville, she poured in 30-points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and five steals, falling just short of a tripe-double. Not to mention a massive steal at the end to virtually seal the upset.
That effort gave her three games of 30-plus points, 5-plus rebounds, 5-plus assists and 5-plus steals, making her the only player in the country to have that many according to ESPN Insights. They also note that there have been just two other instances of that stat line in Division 1 this season, making it even more remarkable. Hidalgo is near the top of the list for ACC Player of the Year, and will surely garner some All-American love as well. As just a junior, she’ll have one more season in South Bend to continue her assault on program and national records.
