A pair of Indiana Fever players earned All-WNBA plaudits, the league announced Friday.
Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell was named All-WNBA first team, while forward Aliyah Boston was picked for the second team.
It’s the first all-league honor for both Mitchell and Boston, who become the second duo in franchise history to garner All-WNBA honors in the same season, joining Tamika Catchings and Katie Douglas (2009, 2010).
Mitchell led the league with 111 3-pointers made during the regular season, ranked second in scoring (890 total points) and third in points per game with a franchise-record 20.2 per game. She was prolific in the postseason, averaging 22.3 points on 42.8% shooting, 3 assists and 1 steal over eight games for the WNBA semifinalists.
A MVP finalist and AP All-WNBA first team honoree, Mitchell also set records for points in a single game, career 3-pointers (669, eighth most in WNBA history) and most 30-point games.
Boston, who was also an all-defensive team selection, ranked in the WNBA top 10 for total rebounds (361), defensive rebounds (254), offensive rebounds (107), double-doubles (17), steals (52) and blocks (41). She was also top 15 in points (660) and assists (163).
Boston’s second professional season also saw her climb multiple franchise all-time leaderboards, moving to second in double-doubles (41), third in blocks (140), fourth in total rebounds (1,051), seventh in points (1,798) and ninth in assists (378). The 2023 No. 1 pick also broke her own single-season rebounding record for the third consecutive season.
Mitchell and Boston are the fourth and fifth players in franchise history to earn All-WNBA honors, joining Catchings, Caitlin Clark and Douglas. Mitchell, Catchings and Clark are the only Fever players to be selected for the All-WNBA First Team.
