As of now, Indianapolis Colts’ wide receiver Alec Pierce is set to hit the open market, and ESPN analyst Matt Bowen selected what he believes could be an ideal landing spot for him.
Of course, the Colts are working to make sure that Pierce doesn’t enter free agency by signing him to a long-term deal before Monday. But as Ian Rapoport pointed out recently, it perhaps benefits Pierce more to become a free agent, where he can speak with every team, potentially driving up his price tag.
If that is how things play out, while there will be numerous teams who are interested in him, which team could offer the best fit?
If you ask Bowen, it’s the Tennessee Titans.
“With the Titans in position to be active in free agency, I like Pierce in Tennessee under new offensive coordinator Brian Daboll,” Bowen wrote. “Pierce has the vertical stretch ability to produce down the field and can play a volume role as a multilevel target for quarterback Cam Ward.”
Along with leading the NFL in yards per catch the last two seasons, Pierce also eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark in 2025 and saw his role expand in the Colts offense, with him asked to attack different levels of the field more often.
PFF is projecting that Pierce’s next deal is for four-years and worth $96 million. Spotrac projects will earn $80.99 million over four years on his free agent contract.
The Colts getting a deal done with Pierce before the NFL’s legal tampering period opens on Monday is crucial. Once Pierce hits free agency, anything can happen.
