GRANGER — A man was taken into custody for questioning after allegedly “shooting off a gun” near the intersection of Indiana 23 and North Fir Road.
According to St. Joseph County Police Department Assistant Supervisor Alex Dempler conflicting reports came in but business owners in the area say they saw the man shooting the gun either near the intersection or on North Fir Road. Dempler said one owner saw the man walking through the Walgreens parking lot at 15005 Indiana 23.
Dempler said there is a heavy police presence in the area to search for the man and keep residents and businesses in the area safe from any potential threats.
St. Pius X Church, 52553 N. Fir Road, was on lockdown but has since released the lockdown order, according to Dempler.
No injuries have been reported and no one has been arrested, only questioned, Dempler said.
