RICHMOND, IN — A 79-year-old man walking in the Depot District was struck by a vehicle and died from his injuries Wednesday night, police said.
Douglas Keeton was hit shortly before 8:41 p.m., according to Richmond police.
Keeton was taken to Reid Health, where he later died, a news release said.
Police said Keeton was attempting to cross the street when he was struck. The driver of the vehicle was taken for a blood draw with results still pending, though preliminary investigation doesn’t indicate the driver was impaired.
Keeton has been taken to the Miami Valley Crime Lab in Dayton, Ohio, for a forensic autopsy, according to the release.
