After plenty of solid sports performers over the last week, here are the Journal Star high school girls athlete of the week nominees for June 1-6, presented by CEFCU.

Izzy Ripka, Morton soccer
The junior put together a memorable state-finals run. Her week began with a goal in Morton’s Class 2A supersectional win over Waterloo on Tuesday, June 2. Ripka continued her offensive onslaught at the state finals, scoring three goals as the Potters finished as a program-best state runner-up. She scored two in the state semifinal win before netting Morton’s lone goal in a 3-1 state-title loss to Crystal Lake Central on Saturday, June 6.
Sutton Centoni, Dunlap softball
The senior capped a historic season for the Eagles. Her week began on Monday, June 1 with a walk-off, RBI single to beat New Lenox Providence Catholic 1-0 in the supersectional. The Illinois signee also had four strikeouts, two walks and gave up four hits, while going 2-for-4. Centoni added two stellar state finals performances as the Eagles took home the Class 3A state fourth-place trophy. In two outings, she struck out 21 and walked one over 14 innings.
Sawyer Drury, Brimfield/Elmwood softball
The senior wrapped up her prep career in the Elite Eight. The Creighton signee pitched the 3-0 supersectional loss to eventual Class 2A state runner-up Seneca on Monday, June 1. She struck out four and walked one on 97 pitches, while working around five errors. This is the second season in a row Drury had led the Indians (29-6) to Elite Eight. Brimfield/Elmwood finished ranked No. 8 in the final Illinois Coaches Association poll.
Addy MacGregor, Washington softball
The sophomore went down swinging for the Panthers in a Class 3A supersectional loss. MacGregor went 2-for-3 as Washington lost 11-1 to eventual state runner-up Chatham Glenwood on June 1. She had a double to lead off the fourth, then singled in the sixth as Washington managed just three hits. Washington (26-9) finished ranked No. 7 in the final ICA poll.
