Snow and bitter cold to hit Springfield. Here's what to know

SPRINGFIELD – Temperatures will drop to single digits or slightly below zero in Springfield on Dec. 3, with wind chills from zero to minus 15, according to the National Weather Service.

Several counties in central Illinois, including Sangamon County are under a Hazardous Weather Outlook.

Light snow accumulations under an inch are possible on the afternoon and evening of Dec. 3.
