Iconic children's show host part of inaugural Illinois Comic Con headed to Peoria

Steve Burns from “Blues Clues,” “The Walking Dead” cast member Khary Payton, and Billy West, who voices several characters on “Futurama,” are among the large lineup of talent for the inaugural Illinois Comic Con in Peoria.

The show comes to the Peoria Civic Center on Nov. 22-23. Here is what you need to know, including the planned guests and ticket information.

Who is coming to Illinois Comic Con?

Burns was the original host of Blues Clues. Payton played King Ezekiel on AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” appearing in 49 episodes from 2016-22. He also has held a role in “Teen Titans,” and “Teen Titans Go!” West is the well-known voice of Fry, Dr. Zoidberg and Professor Farnsworth in the long-running animated series “Futurama.”

In-show events include question-and-answer sessions with celebrities, panels presented by professional cosplayers and artists, a costume contest, gaming, photo ops, and more. Vendors and artists from across the country will set up and sell their wares. Local fan groups will exhibit displays and performances throughout the weekend.

The lineup also includes: Emily Swallow and Barry Lowin (“The Mandalorian”); Andy Black (“Black Veil Brides”); Matt Ryan (DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow”); Michael Biehn (“Tombstone”); Karan Ashley and Steve Cardenas (“Mighty Morphin Power Rangers”); Vernon Wells (“Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior”); voice actor Joshua Seth (“Digimon”).

Also on the slate are Brian Drummond, Alessandro Juliani, and Brad Swaile (“Death Note”), and Shannon Chan-Kent (“My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic”); WWE Hall of Famers D-Von Dudley and Tugboat; comic creators Michael Golden, Arthur Suydam, Renee Witterstaetter and Anna Zhuo; and cosplay guests Little Red Fox Cosplay, DCW Builds and Lore Builds.

Illinois Comic Con tickets

Advance discount tickets are available from Ticketmaster for $25 per day or $45 for the weekend, plus fees and taxes. Kids ages 10 and younger attend free with a paid adult admission. Non-discounted tickets can be purchased at the door on event weekend.
