The 33rd River Cup men’s golf championships are scheduled for Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1 at Lick Creek Golf Course in Pekin. Tee time is 7:30 a.m. both days.
The River Cup, which began in 1993, is an annual event used to promote golf in the Peoria area. It pits the best amateur golfers from Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford counties, split into two teams representing each side of the Illinois River.
Last year, Team Tazwood won the men’s event and Peoria the seniors, the second time in three years it had been split, along with 2022. In 2023, Team Peoria swept the men’s and seniors’ events for the second time in three years.
Men’s captains this year are Ryan Julius (Peoria) and Ryan Saurs (Tazwood). Senior captains are Tim Walters (Peoria) and Eric Dicks (Tazwood). Here are the pairings and rosters for the men’s and senior competitions.
