Bears PFF grades: Best, worst players from Week 10 win vs. Giants

The Chicago Bears defeated the New York Giants, 24-20, on Sunday. It was Chicago’s sixth win in the last seven games, and they’ve positioned themselves in contention for the NFC North.

The Bears had another ugly win where they didn’t play to the best of their ability. But, as head coach Ben Johnson has said repeatedly, a win is a win. There are no style points in the NFL, and Chicago is now 4-1 in games decided by one score, a drastic change from the Matt Eberflus era.

Here’s a look at the best and worst from the Bears offense and defense following Sunday’s Week 10 win:

Best offense grades

More than anything, it is quite impressive to see two of the offensive linemen who are in the first season with the team atop this list. Seeing Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze near the top is not surprising as the two are really growing in their chemistry and performances week after week. Luther Burden does not see a ton of action on the field, but when he gets the opportunity, he makes the most of it. Burden has quickly arrived on the scene and should get more playing time moving forward.

Best defense grades

The Bears secondary is growing and playing better, even with all the injuries they’ve suffered to their top cornerbacks in Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon. There’s a real argument to be made that Chicago has one of the best safety duos in the NFL with Brisker and Byard continuing to show up and excel week after week.

Worst offense grades

Although Caleb Williams played like Superman in the win over the New York Giants, he did not get a ton of help from his supporting cast. There was no worse performance on offense that Olamide Zaccheaus who had at least three drops in the game and should be looking over his shoulder in regards to playing time with Luther Burden playing well. Kyle Monangai found the end zone once again, but with D’Andre Swift back in the lineup his role decreased in a big way.

Worst defense grades

Noah Sewell had a performance that left much to be desired at the linebacker position, and there was a real sense of urgency to get TJ Edwards back on the field. It is not a good look for the front office to see Joe Tryon-Shoyinka on this list in his first appearance in a Bears uniform, but they gave up very little to get him as they look to get better production at the pass rushing position. C.J. Gardner-Johnson had one of the most important plays of the entire game, although he is on this list, Johnson had a very critical role for the defense.
