The 2025 college football season starts next month, and Lindy’s Sports preview magazine for the season is out. They ranked all 136 FBS teams ahead of the season and the FSU Seminoles checked in at No. 37 on their preseason ranking.
“Can [Mike] Norvell recover after one of the most dramatic slides ever,” is their question for the Seminoles.
Norvell is no stranger to turning around a program. FSU went 8-13 in his first two seasons before going 23-4 over the next two seasons, including a 13-1 season where they won the ACC. He has once again turned to the transfer portal to try and upgrade their roster, bringing in 23 transfers. He didn’t stop there though, he also hired new coordinators in Gus Malzahn and Tony White to run the offense and defense, respectively.
They are the fifth-highest ranked ACC team, one spot behind where Lindy’s is projecting them to finish in the conference. The No. 4 Clemson Tigers, No. 10 Miami Hurricanes, No. 11 SMU Mustangs, and No. 23 Louisville Cardinals give them four top 25 teams, the fourth most of the Power Four Conference.
