What is the projected cut line at Sony Open? Who could miss the cut?

Dozens of golfers at the Sony Open are going to see their time cut short at the first event of the 2026 PGA Tour season today.

Hideki Matsuyama and Collin Morikawa, Nos. 16 and 17 in the World Golf Ranking, finished first and second at The Sentry in Hawaii last year, but both enter the second round at Waialae needing a good day to see the weekend. Corey Conners also could end the day below the cut line, as well as Aaron Rai, Si Woo Kim and Tony Finau. Soon-to-be 63-year-old Vijay Singh, who hasn’t played a PGA Tour event since 2021, enters Friday’s round right on the cusp of the projected cut line.
