There’s one more week before the 2026 PGA Championship. And oddly enough, the PGA Tour holds its final tune-up at the Truist Championship and the site of last year’s second major.
Scottie Scheffler won last year’s major at Quail Hollow, but he is out of the limited-field tournament this year to rest for a repeat run. No matter, because the Signature Event is headlined by two-time defending Masters champ Rory McIlroy, who is making his first appearance since retaining his green jacket. He has dominated throughout his career at the Charlotte course, winning four prior outings here.
McIlroy isn’t the only white-hot golfer in the star-studded field. Cameron Young tied for third at the Masters and won last week’s Cadillac Championship. He’s finished no worse than third at four of his five tournaments since March and won two of them. Matt Fitzpatrick, Xander Schauffele, Robert MacIntyre and Ludvig Åberg all skipped Doral last week but will be back to get ready for Arominink and the PGA Championship.

Rounds 1 and 2 of the 2026 Truist Championship will broadcast nationally on Golf Channel starting at 2 p.m. May 7-8. Rounds 3 and 4 will start on Golf Channel at 1 p.m. before switching to CBS at 3 p.m. May 9-10.

Featured group and hole streaming is available on PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ (available on the ESPN app with a Select plan). The main broadcast can be streamed via Sling, which carries Golf Channel, and Fubo, which carries CBS and includes a free trial for new subscribers.

Where is the Truist Championship played?
After spending last year in Philadelphia, the Truist Championship is back at Quail Hollow Golf Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. Quail Hollow opened in 1961 and has hosted two PGA Championships (2017 and 2025) as well as the 2022 Presidents Cup. It plays at a par-71 over 7,583 yards.
Who won the 2025 Truist Championship?
Sepp Straka won last year’s Truist Championship at Philadelphia Cricket Club, shooting 16 under par to beat Justin Thomas and Shane Lowry by two strokes. The last time the tournament took place at Quail Hollow in 2024, Rory McIlroy took home the trophy. He went 17 under and ran away with the victory, beating Xander Schauffele by five strokes for his fourth win in Charlotte.
