Trout Lake Nature Center in Eustis has inspired visitors for four decades with its lush, scenic backdrops. Now that it’s cooler outside and there’s less humidity, the center is hoping to motivate us to enjoy the natural world with its annual fun photo contest.

TLNC presents, once again, its Nature Love Photo Contest. The competition is “a celebration of our love for the outdoors, and of course, Valentine’s Day,” said Claudia Rowe, TLNC’s education coordinator, in a media release.
The objective? Get outdoors, look around and find something natural that resembles a heart.
“In the past, we’ve received photos of heart-shaped clouds, rocks, bird faces and more,” Rowe said.
When you find your heart shape, take a photo and submit it to TLNC by Feb. 13, no later than noon.
Submissions must include the photographer’s name, where the photo was taken, what the subject matter is (if you know it) and permission to use it by TLNC.
Judging is based on the uniqueness of the subject matter, clarity of the heart shape and photo.
All submissions must be digital and made to TLNC.info@gmail.com to be valid.
The winner will receive a $100 Amazon gift card and “bragging rights.”
A selection of photos are planned to be displayed on the TLNC Education Building lobby TV, the website and Facebook page.
Photos can’t be resubmitted from a previous year’s contest.
If you haven’t been there, Trout Lake Nature Center, a 230-acre preserve in Eustis, is a private, non-profit corporation established in 1988.
