The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating after a crash near Capital Circle Northeast and Care Drive that shut down traffic lanes and gridlocked the morning commute.
Police responded to the crash shortly after 6 a.m. March 5, said TPD Detective Michael Carter.

“There was a vehicle crash,” he said. “There were injuries but no fatalities at this time. They were taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.”
TPD asked motorists to avoid the area in a 7:40 a.m. post. Southbound lanes on Capital Circle Northeast from Centerville Road to Care Drive closed. But traffic reopened later in the morning.
Motorists passing by said one of the vehicles appeared flattened, and said three fire trucks and five police cars were on the scene.
TPD said updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
“This is an open and active investigation,” TPD said.
