Solar Bears pull away from Jacksonville Icemen in Sunday hockey

Turning point: Cole Kodsi scored the go-ahead goal at 15:50 of the second period and the Orlando Solar Bears piled on more goals late, defeating the Jacksonville Icemen 7-4 in ECHL hockey on April 12 at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena.

Three stars: 1. Jarid Lukosevicius, Orlando (two goals). 2. David Jankowski, Jacksonville (two goals). 3. Dustin Geregach, Orlando (one goal, one assist).

Penalty box: Jankowski found the net on the power play near the end of the first period to tie the scores at 3-3.

Around the rink: Jacksonville (27-32-8-2) pulled goalie Topias Leinonen after he allowed three goals in a 90-second span in the first period, with Cameron Rowe working the rest of the way. … Will Hillman and T.J. Friedmann also scored for the Icemen. … Luciano Wilson, Keegan McMullen and Anthony Bardaro had goals for the Solar Bears (29-36-4-1), who are also eliminated from the playoff race.
