For the second time this month, the Florida State Seminoles have a new top commit. This time, it is four-star cornerback Chauncey Kennon, who committed on Sunday afternoon.
It is a massive win for head coach Mike Norvell as he picked the Seminoles over a final group that included the Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, and Miami Hurricanes. Kennon is ranked as the No. 67 overall player and No. 8 cornerback in the 247Sports composite rankings.
The Sarasota native will have a shot to become a composite five-star. 247Sports already has him as one in their own rankings, while On3 and ESPN both have him as a top 50 player. Rivlas is the outlier, ranking him as the No. 238 player in the country.
He is the second four-star cornerback that defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. has landed, joining Jay Timmons. FSU also has commitments from safeties Darryl Bell III, Tedarius Hughes, and Sean Johnson. Their 2026 recruiting class currently has 22 members and is contending to be a top 10 class.
