One Daytona restaurant expands with Italian deli, wine bar and market

Five years ago, Tiano’s quietly carved out a corner of Daytona Beach for wood-fired pizzas, slow-simmered sauces and the kind of dinners that often stretch long past dessert.

Now, owner Vittorio Tiano, born and raised in Naples, Italy, is growing the brand beyond its original footprint—expanding into an adjoining deli, wine bar and market designed to deliver a true salumeria experience right to One Daytona.

It’s been nearly a year since the local restaurant announced its expansion—a project that kicked off last fall and is nearing completion, with its opening set for the first week of March, according to Tiano.

With the buzz of nearby colleges and Daytona Speedway events drawing steady crowds to the shopping complex, Tiano saw an opportunity to meet a shifting rhythm—one defined less by lingering, full-service dinners and more by guests looking to pop in for a quick sandwich, espresso or glass of wine.

The closure of neighboring business IT’Sugar last spring provided Tiano with the next door-space needed to bring his idea to fruition—and he wasted little time putting vision into motion.

“In my brain, when I decide to do something, I have to do it right away, you know? Or I’m never going to do it. That’s the way I am,” Tiano said.

“… I always wanted to have a deli … and I really love One Daytona. One Daytona has become home for me.”

What is Tiano’s restaurant in Daytona Beach?

Since opening within the One Daytona complex across from the Speedway in 2021, Tiano’s has proven popular for its Italian fare—a traditional variety shaped by Chef Tiano himself, earning the restaurant a 4.5-star rating online.

Inside, two hulking pizza ovens ground the dining room as conversations swell over cocktails, bruschetta and eggplant rollatini.

At the heart of the restaurant’s menu is Neapolitan pizza, where simple ingredients result in an airy crust, its charred freckles showing the intense heat of the wood fire oven.

Beyond pizza, Tiano’s showcases a classic spread of pasta and seafood dishes, from stuffed shells and spaghetti with clams to creamy fettucine alfredo and veal parmigiana served over pasta—Tiano’s homemade pasta or gluten-free substitution available for an additional charge.

What to expect at Tiano’s Italian Deli, Wine Bar & Market

Inside, much like the adjoining restaurant, portraits of family and Italian culinary traditions line the walls, grounding the space in the same sense of heritage.

A substantial deli case anchors the room—soon to be filled with imported meats and cheeses for purchase—while a handful of high-top window seats neighbor shelves stocked with Italian provisions—imported pastas, cookies and other snacks waiting to be carried home.

In addition to pre-made dishes, like Tiano’s pasta salad, guests will have the option to order meats and cheeses packed to-go or thoughtfully stacked on a deli sandwich of choice, each 10-to-12-inch selection prepared on homemade Italian bread.

“A salumeria is the kind of place you go and you hang out with the people there; you buy stuff for the house, and you ask people behind the counter for advice—‘Do I make this kind of food?’ or ‘What do you think is good?’” Tiano explained. “… I want it to feel like people, they’re really home; they have a community and a little piece of Italy in One Daytona.”

The space will feature an indoor/outdoor bar—with additional seating at the restaurant’s patio—serving a wide variety of fine and casual Italian wines— and some Californian—available by the glass or bottle, Tiano said.

Small, well-pairing plates will also be available, including charcuterie, shrimp cocktails and beef carpaccio, among others.

“We’ll do some seafood for the white wines and some meat for the red wines,” Tiano said.

Much like the restaurant, Tiano’s Italian Deli, Wine Bar & Market will adjust its hours and offerings over time, based on customer feedback, the restaurateur said—his ultimate goal being simply to put “a smile on people’s faces; that’s all I want,” he continued.

Tiano’s Cucina Italiana is located at 1860 Victory Circle in Daytona Beach and is open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. For information and updates, visit facebook.com/tianoscucinaitaliana.
