It’s a milestone year for the Tallahassee Democrat’s 25 Women You Need to Know awards, which started 20 years ago in 2006.
As Women’s History Month gets rolling, we are rolling out the 2026 list of honorees with 30 more talented and dedicated Tallahassee achievers.
That adds up to a total of 560 names for this 20th year of recognizing Tallahassee powerhouse contributors to community well-being. These public servants, mothers and sisters, caregivers and students all have a little something extra to teach us.
The Young Women to Watch category was added to the awards in 2014. The longstanding tradition of honoring local women leaders has inspired a nonprofit organization called Club 25, made up of past honorees with a mission to help others in the community.
Drum roll, please. Now it’s time to meet the 25 Women and 5 Young Women selected for 2026. Congratulate the new class and then read the inspiring stories about each nominee as they begin running on March 15 in the newspaper and online at tallahassee.com/25women.
