Key FSU edge target decommits from Alabama Crimson Tide

The Florida State Seminoles have been trying to flip four-star edge Jabarrius Garror since he committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide in July of 2024. That just got easier as he decommitted from Alabama on Saturday night.

Garror has visited FSU six times since they offered him a scholarship in January of 2024, becoming the first program to extend him a scholarship offer. His most recent visit was in January of 2025, when he attended a Junior Day event in Tallahassee.

He is ranked as the No. 106 overall player and No. 12 edge rusher in the 247Sports composite. The Mobile native is also the No. 4 player from Alabama.

The Seminoles will have plenty of competition for Garror, who has official visits scheduled with the Auburn Tigers, Texas Longhorns, Texas A&M Aggies, and Alabama, although it is unclear if he will take his trip to Alabama since he has decommitted. He has not scheduled one with FSU, something that will have to change for them to have a shot at landing the 6-foot-2.5, 215-pounder.

He has been dominant at Vigor High School, making the MaxPreps Junior All-America Team. He finished the season with 106 tackles, 32.5 tackles for loss, 21 sacks, and a forced fumble. It was his second straight season making over 100 tackles and 20 sacks.

FSU defensive line coach Terrance Knighton has struggled to recruit elite prospects since coming to Tallahassee. Landing Garror would go a long way in changing that narrative.
