Jaguars' Day 2 mock draft roundup: Defensive selections dominate

The first round of the 2026 NFL draft is in the books, and it played out well for the Jacksonville Jaguars, considering they did not make a selection.

Holding four picks on Day 2, GM James Gladstone believes that the Jaguars have a good chance to “really level up.”

Let’s take a look at who the Jaguars are selecting in the latest Day 2 mock drafts.

Matt Miller, ESPN

Takeaways: The Jaguars get some much-needed additions to the defensive front. Depth behind the starters and more pass-rush consistency are needed in 2026 from the rotational defenders. I still don’t think running back is a top 100 need for this team.

Josh Edwards, CBS Sports

Takeaways: Addressing the defensive tackle position remains a top priority. Taking a safety in the top 100 would be a best player available selection. On the roster already at that position are Antonio Johnson, Eric Murray, Caleb Ransaw, and Rayuan Lane. Louis would add a versatile presence to the defense, and an early-round pick on an offensive lineman does seem to be in play.

Nick Baumgardner, The Athletic

Takeaways: Orange was a stout run defender, but his athleticism for his size gives him upside as a pass rusher. Re-signing Montaric Brown helped stabilize the cornerback position, but an addition here is still likely to happen to bolster the depth.

Daniel Flick, Sports Illustrated

Takeaways: Mike Washington Jr. is a very popular pick for the Jaguars in these mocks. He surpassed the 1,000-yard mark in 2025 while averaging a whopping 6.4 yards per rush. Adding to the front seven is an expected priority for the Jaguars, especially up front.
