The Ascenders continue their control of the USA Today Florida Network Super 25 by getting all 13 first-place votes in the Week 8 poll. IMG has been the No. 1 team in the state since the preseason, and Miami Northwestern is the only team in the state to receive a No. 1 vote this year.
IMG sophomore wide receiver Eric McFarland caught eight passes for 117 yards and three touchdowns, while the Ascenders defense held Venice to just 56 yards on 34 carries in a 27-14 win in Week 7.
St. Thomas Aquinas, Northwestern, Chamiande-Madonna and Miami Central round out the top five. Northwestern moved up a spot to No. 3 after a 30-21 win against rival Central in Week 7.
Cardinal Mooney makes its debut in the top 10. The Cougars check in at No. 9 after an impressive 49-28 road win against previously undefeated Clearwater Central Catholic in Week 7.
