It all comes down to this for Florida softball.
Coach Tim Walton described it simply after the Gators dominant 10-2 win over Texas Tech to even the NCAA Gainesville Regional at one.
“You dreamed about this since you were little. You wake up tomorrow morning and have one game to go play in the College World Series,” Walton said.
It has, indeed, come down to that for UF and TTU. The winner will advance to Oklahoma City. The loser will either stay in Gainesville or head back to Lubbock.
And either way history will be made. The Red Raiders are looking to reach the WCWS for the second year in a row. Ace and two-time National Player of the Year NiJaree Canady has never missed it, whether at Stanford or Texas Tech.
The orange and blue are looking to make it 14 trips to the Sooner State, and the third consecutive trip. Walton and Co. haven’t lost a super regional since 2021 and not one in three games since his first supers – way back in 2007.
This is a game that you are going to want to watch. One for all the marbles.
