Four-star FSU commit shuts down his recruitment

The Florida State Seminoles have 25 players committed in their 2026 recruiting class, but multiple of them are still being recruited by other schools. One FSU commit who is no longer listening to them is four-star safety Darryl Bell III, who announced Friday he was shutting down his recruitment on social media.

“First and foremost I want to thank the man above and my family for helping me make this decision,” he wrote. “I also want to thank all the coaches that gave me the opportunity to play at their schools. But I’ll be shutting down my recruitment and staying with the team that makes me feel most at home. #gonoles”

Bell is FSU’s longest-held commit, pledging to them on Oct. 10, 2023. While multiple schools have tried to flip him since then, he has never visited any other programs and has taken multiple trips to Tallahassee this year.

He is ranked as the No. 347 overall player and No. 27 safety in the 247Sports composite. The Hialeah, Florida, product is also the No. 48 player from Florida. He is the highest-rated of Florida State’s three safety commitments, narrowly beating out four-star prospect Tedarius Hughes and three-star prospect Sean Johnson.
