Former FSU wide receiver signs with FCS program

Former Florida State Seminoles wide receiver Camdon Frier has found his new home, signing with the Tarleton State Texans on Wednesday during National Signing Day. Frier entered the transfer portal on Dec. 12 and was one of the final FSU players to find his next school.

Frier spent two seasons in Tallahassee and did not record a stat in four appearances. He suffered an injury prior to the 2024 season and redshirted. The 6-foot, 192-pounder will have three or four seasons of eligibility at his next school.

He is ranked as the No. 1890 overall player and No. 271 wide receiver in the transfer portal by 247Sports. He is the son of former FSU wide receiver Matt Frier, who was a team captain on FSU’s 1993 national championship team. His uncle Todd played defensive back on FSU’s 1999 national championship team.

The younger Frier was considered a three-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class. He was ranked as the No. 481 overall player and No. 69 wide receiver in the 247Sports composite.

The Seminoles lost four wideouts to the transfer portal in Frier, Willy Saurez, Lawayne McCoy, and Elijah Moore. They did not add a wide receiver through the portal, but did sign six high school recruits to shore up their depth.
