Will a $2 Powerball ticket make you a multimillionaire on Presidents’ Day? As they say in the lottery business, “it could happen to you.”
While there was no jackpot win over Valentine’s Day weekend, there was a Florida ticket with a big win.
The Valentine’s Day Powerball had jumped to $146 million for the Saturday, Feb. 14, draw. Two more rollovers, including Monday, Feb. 16, or the Presidents’ Day Powerball, catapulted the grand prize to $169 million for Wednesday, Feb. 18. The one-time cash option, pending there’s a winner, of course, would be $79.2 million. Wednesday’s winning numbers were 9-33-52-64-66 and the Powerball was 1. Power Play was 2x. Those numbers produced another rollover.
The Powerball jackpot for Saturday now climbs to $190 million, with a cash option of $89.1 million.
In case you’re wondering, Monday, Feb. 16, winning Powerball numbers were 16-18-19-56-58 and the Powerball was 6. Power Play was 3x. Though those numbers meant another rollover, it wasn’t all bad news: There was one big winner in Monday’s Powerball drawing. A ticket purchased in Ohio matched 5 for a $1 million prize.
The winning Valentine’s Day Powerball numbers were 23-43-58-60-64 and the Powerball was 24. Power Play was 2x. Two tickets, including that one purchased in Florida and the other in New Hampshire, won big Saturday, Feb. 14, as both matched 5 more $1 million prizes. Publix, 2551 SE Highway 70, Arcadia, Florida, sold the winning Powerball ticket worth $1 million in the 2026 Valentine’s Day drawing.

Saturday, Feb. 14, Powerball drawing was on Valentine’s Day. Here’s a look back at the significance of that holiday for one very lucky winner.
Edwin Castro of Altadena, California, sole winner of the $2.04 billion Powerball drawing on Nov. 7, 2022, opted for the lump sum, which was just shy of $1 billion, according to the California Lottery. Castro bought the ticket that matched all five numbers plus the Powerball from Joe’s Service Center in Altadena, California.
Declining to appear on camera, Castro claimed his prize on Feb. 14, 2023 − Valentine’s Day − and received a check from the California Lottery for $997.6 million. In California, it is public record to know who won a Powerball, Mega Millions or California Lottery jackpot and where the winning ticket was sold. Rules vary in other states, such as Florida, where it is public record to know who won a lottery jackpot, though winners in that state can claim their grand prize through a trust or LLC.
In October 2025, the Wall Street Journal reported Castro walked away with $768 million.

In Florida, most gas stations and some grocery stores sell lottery tickets. It’s harder to find a gas station that doesn’t sell Powerball, Mega Millions, Florida Lottery and scratch-off tickets than it is to find one that does.
Publix also sells lottery tickets and is known for selling many winning tickets. A lesser-known location is Walmart. Whether the Walmart location closest to you sells lottery tickets depends on your state and the store. Many Walmart locations in Florida have self-service lottery ticket vending machines or sell lottery tickets at the customer service desk.
