Florida football redshirt senior left tackle Austin Barber has earned an invitation to the 2026 Panini Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. The all-star showcase is set for Jan. 31, 2026, and will be played at Hancock Whitney Stadium on the campus of the University of South Alabama.
For Barber, the opportunity is a well-deserved recognition of how far he’s come since arriving in Gainesville from Trinity Christian Academy in Jacksonville.
After redshirting in 2021, Barber steadily climbed the depth chart, eventually becoming one of the most dependable pieces on Florida’s offensive line. By the time he reached his senior season, he had transformed into a fixture at left tackle and one of the Gators’ most consistent performers.
Barber has stacked more than 25 consecutive starts, produced some of the highest pass-blocking grades on the team across multiple seasons and anchored a unit that faced some of the toughest defensive fronts in the SEC.
His physicality in the run game and his ability to hold up against elite edge rushers made him a bright spot during a period of transition for the Florida Gators.
Entering the 2025 season, Barber earned a spot on the Outland Trophy Watch List. His pass-protection scores routinely ranked among the best on the roster, and he’s logged more than 700 snaps in back-to-back seasons, showing durability and reliability. Those are two traits NFL teams value heavily.
Barber’s inclusion in the Senior Bowl adds another name to the program’s growing list of NFL-caliber offensive linemen. For Barber himself, it’s the next chapter in his journey to the pros.
The 2026 Panini Senior Bowl is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. ET on Jan. 31 in Mobile, Ala.
