A motorcyclist was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries July 5 after the bike collided with a utility pole on John Anderson Highway in Flagler Beach, according to a release from the Flagler Beach Fire Department.
Units from the fire department and Flagler County Fire Rescue responded around 6:07 p.m. where first responders found the rider on the ground and “initiated a trauma alert,” the release stated.
Because of bad weather in Daytona Beach, the rider could not be evacuated to a trauma center by helicopter and was transported by ambulance; however, the ambulance was diverted to AdventHealth Palm Coast for emergency care, according to the release.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
No information on the victim was released.
