The Miami Dolphins are entering the 2026 season with a less-talented roster than they had last year, which resulted a 7-10 record and a third-place finish in the division.
However, there are still some strong performers left that will give the Dolphins chances to win games throughout the year, including running back De’Von Achane.
In fact, ESPN’s Bill Barnwell recently listed Achane while working through all 32 teams and contemplating who could make the Hall of Fame from their active rosters. While he did note that the running back has some work to do to get there, it’s clear that he believes in his talent.
“A 1,838-scrimmage-yard season from Achane in 2025 earned the 2023 third-round pick his first Pro Bowl appearance,” Barnwell wrote. “No one doubts Achane’s big-play ability, and he has averaged a robust 5.6 yards per carry since entering the league, but things might be tougher without Mike McDaniel, Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and Tua Tagovailoa. Achane’s chances of remaining hyperefficient would have been better with a trade somewhere else, but he’ll certainly be in line to get plenty of touches as the Dolphins rebuild.”
Achane’s ability to affect the game as a runner and receiver could be what helps him see Canton when his careers over. Through three seasons, he’s rushed for 3,057 yards and 22 touchdowns on 5.6 yards per attempt while catching 172 passes for an additional 1,277 yards and 13 touchdowns.
With their lack of weapons and with Achane receiving a hue extension this offseason, he’s primed for a big year in 2026 to continue down the path toward football immortality.
