Florida State has been doing well on the recruiting trail. However, Saturday has been a day of misses. In addition to three-star edge Katrell Webb picking the Purdue Boilermakers over FSU, four-star athlete Heze Kent has committed to the arch-rival Florida Gators.
The 247Sports composite rankings have Kent as the nation’s No. 149 overall recruit, the No. 9 athlete, and the No. 20 prospect in the state of Georgia. Rivals has Kent as the No. 158 prospect, the No. 14 offensive tackle, and the No. 19 player in Georgia.
FSU first offered Kent a scholarship in January of 2023, which was his fourth offer overall at the time. He would take two unofficial visits before the year ended. Kent attended the Seminoles’ Legacy Weekend in March and also took an unofficial visit to Florida State on June 13, his final one before making his decision.
There is one last hope for Florida State on Saturday as four-star linebacker Rodney Colton Jr. will commit and he has them as one of his final three schools along with the Colorado Buffaloes and Ole Miss Rebels.
